"Calico Garden"  Brenda made this quilt using a Hoopla pattern.  The original quilt is in the Shelburne Museum and was made by Florence Peto in 1950.  Brenda's quilt is machine pieced, hand applique, Broderie perse and hand quilted.  This photo shows the quilt hanging in the "Evolution of Quilting" exhibit at the Safety Harbor Museum of Regional History in Safety Harbor, Florida, 2005.

Brenda is relaxing with some hand applique work while sailing on a ship in Greece and enjoying some fresh air on the island of Tinos, Greece.  The Sun Bonnet Sue Quilt is the result of that applique work.  This Sun Bonnet Sue pattern was published in the Kansas City Star Newspaper in 1930.

Brenda and husband, John, tour a weaving school on the island of Tinos, Greece. These ladies did some very nice work.
